Race Replicas (Die-casts)

Race Replicas – die-cast race cars for all forms of motorsports

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Race Replicas specializes in producing 1:24 scale authentic die-cast dirt Late Model, IMCA/UMP Modified, asphalt Late Model, Super/Pro Truck, Sprint Car, dually trucks with enclosed trailer, and tractor and trailer haulers.

Kenny Johnson, of Conway, S.C., began Race Replicas in 1975 by building exact race car models for racers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Prior to the time die-cast race cars were produced, Johnson was noted for his expertise in assembling model car kit race cars. His craftsmanship in painting, decaling and turning out the detailed finished product have made Race Replicas die-cast cars a must-have item by racers and race teams all around the country. A Race Replicas die-cast car brings a smile to the faces of all who see Johnson's handiwork.

Robert Walden, a resident of Johnson City, Tenn., is a longtime motorsports journalist and public relations director at Bulls Gap's Volunteer Speedway, one of the nation's premier dirt tracks. Walden brings with him to Race Replicas a wealth of knowledge in both dirt and asphalt short-track racing and the drivers involved. Dating back to the mid-1970s, he has worked in several different areas in motorsports; with NASCAR Cup and Busch teams during the 1980s, and heading up the PR for Volunteer and Kingsport (Tenn.) Speedways since the mid-1990s.

Besides the aforementioned tracks, his involvement in dirt racing in East Tennessee also includes duties at Newport Raceway and I-81 Motorsports Park. Walden Motorsports Communications also provides professional public relations representation for drivers and race teams.

"I'm very pleased to bring Robert (Walden) onboard with me at Race Replicas," said Johnson. "He's been around racing his entire life, and he's worked in the motorsports industry for close to 30 years. At Volunteer Speedway, located in Bulls Gap, Tenn., he's well-known around that place and really all around the East Tennessee racing scene. I've got many years tied up working with model cars, and the die-cast race cars have really taken off over the last 8-10 years. Both Robert and I feel that anyone choosing to let Race Replicas make their race team some die-cast models, they won't be disappointed."

Over the years, Johnson has produced model cars for racers at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Speedway, Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway, Volunteer (Tenn.) Speedway, Caraway (N.C.) Speedway, Orange County (N.C.) Speedway, Florence (S.C.) Speedway, Columbus (Miss.) Speedway, North Alabama Speedway, Summerville (S.C.) Speedway, Oglethorpe (Ga.) Raceway Park, Fayetteville (N.C.) Speedway, Cherokee (S.C.) Speedway, Southern National (N.C.) Speedway, Tri-County (N.C.) Speedway, and many other tracks around the South.
